Surveying Rentals - Rental Services
Arranging Delivery and Pick up of Surveying Equipment
Transportation
Delivery and pick-up are sometimes available from the Rental Company on equipment for an additional charge.
Responsibility for arrangement and payment for transportation of the equipment often falls on the buyer.
Geographic Area
Surverying rental company locations vary in their geographic coverage; some are local, while others are nationwide. In most cases it is better to find a rental company closer to your location so that you don't have to pay as much in transportation costs.
Packaging
Shipping equipment is possible if well packaged and handled properly - ask the rental company about their shipping an mailing practices.
Maintenance
According to the terms of most rental contracts, while the equipment is in your possession, you're responsible for its proper use and security. Most rental contracts state that the equipment must be returned in the same condition you rented it, subject to ordinary wear and tear.
Generally, the rental center is responsible for maintenance and breakdowns. And the rental contract does not involve transfer of title to you.
Contract Terms
The contract begins when you leave the store with the equipment and ends when you return it.
You decide how long you will keep it, and there's no penalty for returning it sooner than you thought you would.
Liability
Your business insurance may or may not cover rented equipment. If it doesn't, you can inexpensively extend your coverage to include it.
